New Polls Show Presidential Approval At New Record Lows - Page 2
Well sure...that makes perfect sense. I don’t like the man’s policies, but he’s a nice guy, and he likes unicorns and cotton candy, and he thinks fuzzy little kittens are super cute. All of that Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, debt ceiling, and budget deficit stuff should not factor into his job evaluation because he’s a nice guy.
Let’s not forget that the government at the end of the day is a business, and the business of business is to make money. Barack Obama is at the top of the food chain in this business of government. He’s a little like a CEO in a corporate environment.
If the guy at the top of this food chain previously declared that a figure such as unemployment would not rise above 9 percent but definitely would not rise above 8 percent if a spending boost of, I don’t know, let’s say $787 billion was implemented, yet that unemployment number topped out at over 10 percent, that would be a failure.
If the same guy hires someone like Jeff Immelt, the current CEO of General Electric, to be his Jobs Czar, a position one might think serves to ultimately stimulate job growth, but then Mr. Immelt announces “he was launching a joint venture with GE and China that “will send medical and aviation manufacturing jobs to China, rather than keep them here in the United States,” thus doing nothing to alleviate the previously mentioned unemployment problem, that would be a failure.
These are just two examples of how the CEO has not delivered on what his résumé said he could do. In this situation, the CEO would be very politely advised to not let the door hit him in the ass on his way out of the building for the last time.
It pains me to see how desperate our country's situation has become. It’s almost like we became a degenerate gambler in Vegas, knowing that we’re way down at the blackjack table, but fixated on the idea that we can win our money back by using the very strategy that resulted in our current losses. All we need is that one lucky break, and son of a bitch, happy days will be here again.
The only problem with that is that the house still has an edge, and I’m pretty sure the president doesn’t know how to count cards.
