Newt Getting RichNewt Gingrich is getting rich at the expense of taxpayers. Republican candidate for president, Newt Gingrich is surging in polls recently. However, his wallet had been surging faster before he started his campaign for president. The Gingrich Group, which is named after him, took $2 million dollars from Freddie Mac.

Yes, that Freddie Mac, the one who taxpayers have bailed out and will bail out repeatedly for the housing loan debacle. All Newt “Getting Rich” Gingrich can say is “I didn't take it.” This sounds much like the beginnings of the Bart Simpson defense: I didn't do it. No one saw me do it. You cannot prove a thing.

However, Newt admitted that the money was just paid to him for the chance to rub shoulders with someone who understood Washington and its history. Everyone may now agree that with the pocketed payola that Newt understands Washington and its history.

He even went further and said that the cold hard cash wasn't “paid to me as a candidate.” That is irrelevant Newt. You sucked milk from the taxpayers teat when you took the $2 million.

At his campaign stop at Harvard, hecklers were removed after shouting “Thank you for standing up for corporations.” As the “historian” candidate, Newt, you may now be history as a presidential hopeful.
