Obama's 40% HaircutDuring his re-election campaign at fundraisers in California and Nevada on Monday, President Obama announced a 40% haircut to the promises he made as a candidate in the 2008 election. During one of his cash-grab events at a fundraiser, he racked-up $35,800 a head from 40 donors.

President Obama cited the promises he kept from his campaign. The first was healthcare reform. The second was ending “don't ask, don't tell,” the policy preventing gay men and women from openly serving in the United States armed forces. President Obama went on to say that he “carries around a little checklist, and I think we've got about 60% of it done so far. And that's not bad for three years.”

Thus, by my own personal mathematics, that is a 40% haircut to the promise he made as a candidate in the 2008 election. And this is good news because I'd rather take a 40% haircut on his promises than the 60% haircut that the European Union wants the international banks to take on Greek debt.
