Obama - 'We Got Him!'
By now you’re all intoxicated from the news of Osama bin Laden’s death. All major media outlets are reporting on it ad nauseum. It seems that for the most part this a bi-partisan triumph for the Obama administration. Almost a decade later, America finally has justice for the terrible atrocities committed on September 11, 2001.
President Obama was stellar as he addressed the nation on the details of Osama’s death this past Sunday night. The irony is that Obama’s big message pre-empted Donald Trump’s “Celebrity Apprentice,” talk about poetic justice! Pres. Obama said he called former-president George W. Bush to advise him of bin Laden’s death.
During his speech, Pres Obama stated that we could rally together, as Americans. From all quarters, it appeared that we once again, rallied together as Americans and not hyphenated-Americans. The death of a human being is never pleasant, given the magnitude of the horrific crimes bin Laden committed against Americans in the name of jihad, celebrations were in order.
By all accounts the months leading up to this historic event were kept secret from the public. NBC reported that going back to August, the president had been briefed on intelligence that may have located Osama bin Laden in Pakistan. Pres. Obama’s team managed to hold their water and didn’t allow any leaks within the presidents inner-circle.
Needless to say, this is a political feather in Obama’s cap! His approval rating instantly shot up as Americans welcomed the news that the terrorist, who caused so many American families grief was no more. There is speculation that he is a shoe-in for re-election. As the old axiom goes, it ain’t over, till it’s over. This historic milestone definitely won’t hurt his re-election campaign.
The question that all Americans are asking is, “how could Osama bin Laden hold up in a mansion next to a military academy, which is the equivalent of West Point and the Pakistani’s not be aware of his (bin Laden) presence?
