Palin: I'm Not Running in 2012

According to a letter sent to supporters this evening, former Alaska governor and VP nominee Sarah Palin will not be putting her hat into the ring for the 2012 GOP Presidential nomination.
“I have decided that I will not be seeking the 2012 GOP nomination for President of the United States, “Palin wrote in her letter, and repeated this statement on the radio on Mark Levin’s conservative radio show. Citing a desire to opt out in order to keep her family first, she added “When we serve, we devote ourselves to God, family and country. My decision maintains this order.”
Her announcement is only 24 hours after New Jersey Governor Chris Christie’s announcement that he will not run for the Republican nomination either, keeping the race tightly drawn between candidates Rick Perry, Mitt Romney and Herman Cain.
Although there remains much speculation that Palin might run as an independent, when asked if she would support the GOP nominee, she replied “I look forward to supporting our nominee.” Just who “our” is remains to be seen, as she has strong ties to the independent minded Tea Party, who in the past have urged her to bolt the party in 2012. Lately, however, even that support has waned.
Interested in further details? Palin will be on Fox News’ Greta van Susteren Show on Wednesday night.
