President Monti is really serious against tax evasion and it should be tougher. After the first phase of the wave of fiscal adjustment, the government now is preparing the second phase for economic growth. In Italy the main problem is the black economy, which alone, according to Istat data, produces about 275 billion, representing 17% of GDP. This is the missing state coffers about 120 billion. Seek out tax evaders is the first task and duty of the government.

"Whoever escapes puts his hands in the pockets of honest taxpayers." This is the slogan and the iron fist Monti shows against those who do not pay taxes and get away with it. Tax evasion is a serious harm to the economy of a country and its international reputation. Monti has already given the financial police and the agency revenue some new tools for combining data from banks, cars, stores, records of luxury goods (as a yacht), and the first results are being seen. Now the police have more powers and tools to combat tax evasion.

The assertion that in Italy the tax burden is the highest in Europe does not justify evasion. The study center of Mestre has calculated Tax Freedom Day, for the Italians this year will be June 30, moved to 7 days compared to 2011. Six months to pay the taxes and the other six to earn! Too much for every honest citizen. Monti gave strong signals and the parties are trying to find their way from one side so as not to displease the public and the other the voters that so far have received many benefits by a very low and feelefight against tax evasion. According to Istat data evasion is spread over 17% in the center , 14% in the north and 7% in the south of italy. In particular, the groups most evade are the owners of buildings and real estate (88%) then the self-employed and entrepreneurs (56%), who is employed and contemporary have a public job (44%).
