Obama / Getty ImagesThere it is in black and white (unless your monitor has some calibration issues): 52 percent of registered voters don't believe President Obama deserves re-election in 2012. Well, that means he's in trouble now, isn't he?

Well ... isn't he?

With just 44 percent favoring re-election in CNN/Opinion Research's poll, such numbers will bring predictions of a one-term president, while others blame CNN for conducting an irresponsible poll.

This is all certainly contingent on who wears the Republican challenger pants, and if a third "tea party" candidate evolves from the ether. Although these numbers are subject to change (there are, like, two and a half years before these numbers become serious), 44 percent might be enough to win in '12.
