Clearly our nation must have nothing going on. There is no recession, there are no tax cuts pending, there is no two front war going on. There are no people that need their lawmakers making decisions and doing their jobs. Hell, there is nothing going out here in America, so why don't you guys in the House take off early to go campaign? Because we know, the American people know, that nothing is more important to the functional sustainability of this country than your ability to rein in campaign funds and cut steak with your rich constituents at $10,000 a plate dinners.

At least, that's the impression I get when I read that the House is considering taking off - adjourning - at the end of the week. The House hasn't closed their business before September 30th in an election year since 1960, when there was actually something going on.

The Democrats don't seem to think so, as this early adjournment - before deciding on extending tax cuts to small businesses and the middle class - is coming from Pelosi and her minions. "Members want to finish business and get back to their districts as soon as possible," said one of the Democrats aides, clearing drunk on the grape Kool-Aid.

If the Democrats force the House to close early before deciding on the tax bill they are all morons and I hope they are met in their districts by rotten tomatoes and possibly rotten lettuce, though tomatoes are more effective.
