The Westboro Circus: Is Fred Phelps the Ultimate Ringmaster or Ultimate Bully?
They threatened to picket Elizabeth Taylor's funeral. In fact, they actually protested Geraldine Ferraro's funeral. If you have ever read any of my other pieces on this topic, you know exactly how I feel about this hate group.
Yes, I will sadly report that their stupid little sites are back up. Some will inform you as to why God supposedly hates your country. If you click here, you can see some of these ludicrous claims.
According to one of their filthy sites, they will be picketing at Arlington next month. Really, who would picket at one of the most hallowed grounds in this country? Sadly, they will also ruin the graduations, religious services, and general day to day life of many others. In fact, they are going to picket a Charlie Daniels concert next because he spoke out against them. Hey, where's my protest? These savages claim that priests rape boys. Growing up Catholic, back when I practiced the faith, there is only one priestly sin I ever witnessed: really boring sermons. None of the priests I knew growing up were anything but chaste individuals. They are generally respected members of society.
I'll be honest- not being listed on their "God Hates The Media" site is a slap in the face. Here is my take on some of their enemies that the listed:
- Albert Snyder- This man lost a son. How would you feel if someone assassinated one of your children during a "mission"? I never say this, but, if one of your members were to lose a child, I hope someone ruins your day the way you ruined this man's.
- Dead Soldiers- I'm assuming none of you have the balls to join the military, do you?
- Patriot Guard Riders- Don't be jealous because they are more bad ass than you.
- Jews- Please, get more original.
- Ozzy Osbourne- Why don't you respect the Prince of Darkness?
- Katy Perry-You must hate her because she is better dressed than you are. Maybe if you weren't so insistent on hating gays, you would dress better.
- Ryan Jones- While your children were being jerks, he made a documentary that exposed you. People like Ryan Jones and I prove that our generation does NOT all suck.
- Charlie Daniels- Can't you respect good music? It's better than what the WBC has created.
- Kathy Lee Griffin- I get it, you hate her because she's pretty, unlike any of you in your sexless marriages.
- Cat Cora- I think it's sad that you can't accept classic, fine dining.
