Like many of the revolts in the Middle East right now they as a people group want more say so over what happens to them locally and personally. Realistically how long can anyone take being dictated to and having the orders of the ruling party override their personal needs before getting feed up?
Gaddafi has sought to use the fact that Libya exports light crude oil as a bargaining chip and claims Al Qaeda is behind the uprising. Fear mongering may work on a populace under the thumb of a dictator with a media black out. However when presented with the freedom of the press that a majority of the modern world experiences and seems to relish its hard to take some of these outlandish claims seriously.
Is there a means to a peaceful solution in Libya when neither party seems to agree on a peaceful end? Will we see an end to this stand off between Benghazi and Tripoli?
