TSA Agents Face Abuse, Angry Travelers Vow to Disrupt Travel - Page 2
Another said: “Being a TSO means often being verbally abused. You let the comments roll off and check the next person; however, when a woman refuses the scanner then comes to me and tells me that she feels like I am molesting her; that is beyond verbal abuse.”
Which begs the question, do any of you who feel this is a violation of your rights actually think that the TSA agency is violating you - or the agents themselves? Do you think the agents enjoy feeling you up? Do you think they revel in the near naked X-ray scans? There is at least a vetting process for hiring that eliminates felons and sex offenders from the employment ranks, so if there are any agents that enjoy touching strangers, they would most likely be dealt with quickly.
The old adage, "don't shoot the messenger" certainly comes into play here. Don't even bother suggesting the TSA agents revolt; this is their livelihood. Chances are, they aren't qualified to do much else. Which is a whole 'nother problem in itself and goes back to the point that Paranoia brought up - why aren't there qualified profilers and screeners at airports? Why are we leaving the security of our country in the hands of mindless drones following the letter of their instructions?
Meanwhile, and possibly considering these additional questions, the White House is evaluating the current security standards to hopefully avoid the coming storm from the public. They have already instructed TSA agents to let pilots pass unmolested (as they should have to begin with) and are mulling other slight changes. At this time, they have no plans to deviate from the X-ray machines or pat-downs.
Which makes me really look forward to Wednesday, November 24th - the day before Thanksgiving. I'm not advocating any terrorist acts by American Citizens; let's not be stupid, people. I do, however, think that action by the people is necessary to finally show the Government that forcing us to live in a reactionary state of fear is not the way to run a country or its people. Viva la Revolution!
