Where is this Hatred Going to Take Us?
On January 8th, 2011, a Safeway grocery store in Tuscon, Arizona turned into a hell-hole on this earth when a lone gunman opened fire, as the democratic congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords met with her constituents outside the store. Arizona's chief federal judge, and five others were killed instantly from the shooter's bullet. Hot lead pierced Gabrielle Giffords brain and she is barely clinging to life—the nation prays for her life, and the lives of the other injured victims of this insane attack.
This is the direct result of the climate of hate and violence created by the Tea Party and the extremist goons of the right wing operators. The uncrowned queen of Tea Party, Sarah Palin, must be a happy woman tonight, she had put CROSSHAIRS/ BULLSEYE on Giffords on her website. For her it is one down 19 more to go, in fact sixteen, as three of the gun sights victims have already announced their retirement from politics.
Sarah Palin had targeted House Democrats, who voted for health care reform with gun sights. Palin's Facebook page carried a map featuring 20 gun sights, one for each of the Democrats targeted this year by her political action committee SarahPAC.
In March of this year, the front door at Giffords’ congressional office was shattered and her office was vandalized. Despite the fact that her office had received many “nasty and rude” calls “laced with profanity” prior to that incident, the police did not think of increasing vigilance for the safety of the congresswoman and her staff.
Jared Lee Loughner, a white clean-shaven man with short hair, wearing dark clothing and in mid-to-late 20s, has been identified as the man suspected of Saturday's shooting. Loughner shot Giffords “point blank” in the head, and continued to spray bullets on12 others including a 9-year-old girl, an aide for the Democratic lawmaker and U.S. District Judge John Roll, who had just stopped by to see his friend Giffords. The mayhem ended only after two people tackled the gunman and pinned him.
