Why Did Justice Roberts Vote For Obamacare?
Among the wild theories such as, John Roberts was threatened by President Obama, Robert’s wife was offered a lucrative job, Roberts was concerned of his legacy and host of others, the only sensible one appeared to be the one written by John Stauber. He wrote, “Roberts siding with Dems has probably bounced Obama right out of office. The public overwhelmingly hates Obamacare, and this pours gas on the electoral fire.” I could not agree more.
When the left is gyrating in wild celebration—what a great victory! I am thinking in my mind what the Affordable Health Care did for me. Personally, my daughter stayed one more year in my employer-offered health plan. Then, I got the assurance that my preexisting health conditions would not be a bar if I seek health insurance on my own. But I gained these advantages with the loss of the opportunity that I could have, if Obama would fight for a single payer system, just like other civilized nations have.
Why is this grand compromise? Why everything in Obama’s world half-hearted? The pragmatic Democrats say Obama could never have a single payer system because of the blue-dog Democrats.
Really?
Has anyone heard of Medicare E—the term coined by the famous talk show host Thomas Hartmann? If Obama were sincere he could have extended Medicare for everybody with one executive order—ask Mr. Hartmann. So why is this Obamacare?
Stauber went on to write, “Obamacare and its corporate mandate were born on the Right (as in Heritage Foundation) as a way to destroy the political prospects of any single payer system that would cover all Americans with a tax-funded system of guaranteed medical care. This is the way all other industrial societies protect the right to health care, by taking it out of the hands of the giant insurance industry. The right to health care is like the right to not be enslaved – there are no half measures, and the insurance industry is the slave master.”
Makes sense?
Now, with one clever act John Roberts—the ultimate rightwing political hack, may have played the most brilliant move of his life, which have stolen the thunder from the Democrats that could have ignite their fire which has long gone because of repeated betrayal of Obama.
Roberts’s action gives a tremendous boost to GOP, who will have renewed vigor to unite their herds, come November. And the presumed master tactician, who was considered to be the master chess player by his neophyte admirers, may now finally be exposed of his true caliber, which is barely mediocre.
