National Grid proposing energy efficiency program
http://blogs.timesunion.com/ business/ ?p=3563
National Grid today announced a new energy-efficiency program it wants to implement, with a target of saving consumers and businesses $350 million overall. The plan, which would include funding for low-income programs, incentives for the purchase of energy-efficient appliances and online efficiency tools, needs approval from the state Public Service Commission. It would cost the average National Grid residential customer an additional $1.50 per month in their electric and natural gas bills, so if they get both it would be $3 a month. However, National Grid believes the program can save customers a lot more than that.
