Reactions to story from The Preacher’s Wife
Spring time planting

Finally we managed to get a dry day to get our potatoes in before it inevitably started to rain again. It was a bit of a marathon effort as the ground was too wet, and on heavy clay soil that just does you in really. The onions went in, along with some beetroot and rainbow chard, thought that was an altogether easier affair. I started digging up some rhubarb that was languishing sadly in amongst the couch grass at the end of the plot. It was on the plot when we took it over, the first year we had a great crop from it, last year it lost out to the weeds and we hardly had anything from it.
