Open Source applications are becoming more sophisticated all the time. Here's a list of 50 useful open source applications for online writers. I loved "Now is the month of Maying" over at Walking the Berkshires. I had not thought of a Maypole in years! I talked to someone down in Amory in the Hill Country of Northeast Mississippi today who told me they'd read Terry's column where he rambled about everyone who lived up in the hills. Let's hope he keeps on rambling! A few free online books of interest to genealogists and family historians can be found in the University of California Press' eScholarship editions.
