La bienvenida de Google al StreetView

    http://es.googlesightseeing.com/2008/08/05/la-bienvenida-de-...

Gracias a GmapsMania. Google’s Street View Welkoms feest

    http://nl.googlesightseeing.com/2008/08/06/googles-street-vi...

Thanks to GmapsMania. Google’s Street View Welcome Party

    http://www.geo2web.com/2008/08/05/google%e2%80%99s-street-vi...

::: via ::: As the Street View car passed Google’s California head offices, the Googleplex, hundreds and hundreds of Google Employees came out to form a huge welcoming committee for the passing camera car. There’s loads of things to see, as many employees have clearly prepared for the event! For example, here’s a life-size yellow Street View guy: Elsewhere, in a clear nod to our very own discovery of a fight on Street View, a couple of Googlers are engaged in a slight altercation. In another self-referential move, a couple of people are taking part in a tiny Tour-de-France! The in-jokes don’t stop there either - one Googler took the opportunity to make a “Web 2.0? marriage proposal! See his website to find out if she accepted. There’s tons more silliness all up and down the street, as it seems the entire Googleplex came out for the event - so have a browse and share your best finds in the comments! Google brings Street View to entire Tour route

    http://www.tdfblog.com/2008/07/google-brings-s.html
153 days ago in Tour de France 2008 · Authority: 42

Google Maps - Tour de France 2008 Google is taking Street View on the road. The 3D panorama view for Google Maps is already available in dozens of US cities, allowing you to fly through stitched-together photos of San Francisco's Lombard Street, Broadway, or Ocean Drive in South Beach, Miami. Now, Google is taking the tech outside the United States for the first time, offering Street View for not just the cosmopolitan parts of this year's Tour, but the entire route, from start to finish. Combined with a Google Maps .kml file of the route, you can fly through the entire route, viewing photos of any spot on the course at any time. There's also an official introduction video on YouTube.

    http://www.digitalnext.de/die-ersten-google-street-view-bild...

Google Maps Street View comes to Europe…

    http://www.hitsearchlimited.com/news/999874/

…in a limited fashion at least. Many thanks to the Google Sightseeing blog for tipping us off on this. At long last Google Street View has dipped it’s toe into Europe by unveiling a limited set of street level mappings based on this year’s Tour de France root. Google Street Level view of Paris It takes in many of the major French towns and cities so if you have visited anywhere along the route it’s well worth checking out the various sights. Cycling enthusiasts can also check out some of the more challenging features of the route like the infmaous mountain stages. It provides an interesting view of what the roads look like for the rest of the year when they aren’t daubed with painted slogans and lined by throngs of screaming fans (as demonstrated by this nice sleepy view of the Alpine stages). There have been legal rumblings over the use of images containing images of people who have not given their consent so it’ll be interesting to see how this limited roll-out fairs. For the time-being at least we can explore. Would you like to know more about Google Maps?
