Indian Point Radiation Contributed to Or Caused My Wife's Cancer
http://greennuclearbutterfly.blogspot.com/ 2008/ 04/ indian-point-radiation-contrib...
Sure the Pro-Industry folks wish I would simply go away...hard to do when you live three miles from a problem plagued dangerous nuclear reactor wrongfully trying to get itself relicensed for another 20 years of operation...even harder to do when you find out your wife has breast cancer and you are convinced that Entergy's poor management, and Indian Point's leaking reactors play a crucial role in that cancer, and in the cancer of two of our cats. Carrying on the fight I was meant to be involved in, have recently filed more Petitions with the NRC...for those battling Entergy in the License Renewal Case, you might find the NRC's most recent response to that Petition interesting.

Indian Point Caused Breast Cancer? (or maybe not)
http://depletedcranium.com/?p=557Indian Point Caused Breast Cancer? (or maybe not) April 19th, 2008 From this idiotic post. It’s common for interest groups to track down those who have experienced a personal loss and try to make it an issue, because it’s pretty hard to go after them without coming off like a mean bully making light of a tragic loss: Sure the Pro-Industry folks wish I would simply go away…hard to do when you live three miles from a problem plagued dangerous nuclear reactor wrongfully trying to get itself relicensed for another 20 years of operation…even harder to do when you find out your wife has breast cancer and you are convinced that Entergy’s poor management, and Indian Point’s leaking reactors play a crucial role in that cancer, and in the cancer of two of our cats. Well geez, we all know people and cats don’t get cancer away from nuclear plants. So is there a statistically significant link between cancer in the area and the plant? Doesn’t seem to be. And note here that the the person states that they live three miles from the reactor! Lets not forget that aside from thyroid cancer, there does not seem to be any huge increase in cancer rates three miles from Chernobyl, the worst accident in the history of nuclear energy by far! If there actually were releases of radioactivity from Indian Point which were significant enough to cause cancer rates to increase three miles away, then those who are in the area immediately around Indian Point would likely be trying to stop their noses from bleeding and pulling out hair in clumps while battling to remain conscious! If this guy really does want to know if there are radioactive discharges, which are increasing the background dose in his area, then I’d suggest he stop viewing radiation like some kind of black magic and buy a geiger counter - which I will happily sell him. Normally I’d not suggest someone who has no idea how something like that works run around making a scene about it clicking every time they get near a banana, but hey, it’s money in my pocket so he can knock himself out. Of course, Indian Point releases nowhere near the radiation of a coal burning power plant, but why let the facts get in the way? Remember my grandfather was killed by that horrible peanut brittle factory! Posted in Bad Science, Nuclear
