Late-night dining in Albany? July 3, 2008 at 4:24 pm by Steve Barnes, senior writer A reader writes: I was looking for a diner last night but was unsure what was open. Can you ask people what they know about hours of diners located in the city of Albany? First place to try should always be Cafe 217, at the corner of Delware and Jefferson, a block south of Madison. The hours are dinerish but the place is decorated like a cute little cafe. My recollection is it’s open 5 p.m. to 2 p.m. the following day (closed Monday and Tuesday). Gateway Diner (899 Central) is open until 10:30 or 11 p.m. Sunday through Thursday, 24 hours on weekends.
