The dangerously flimsy Backpack Bicycle for the extremely confident cyclist

The dangerously flimsy Backpack Bicycle for the extremely confident cyclist Fancy trusting your life to a piece of plastic no thicker than a pencil as you weave in and out of buses, taxis, alpha males in white vans, lumps of broken glass from previous cyclist-crushings and pot holes? That's supposed to be a rhetorical question, but if you just nodded "Yes" here's the solution to ending the life you're so very tired of - the Backpack Bicycle. It's designer Chang Ting Jen's entry in the International Bicycle Design competition. The orange is nice, we'll give him that.

ELSEWHERE ON "THE NETWORK" #00030
http://www.ukresistance.co.uk/2008/07/elsewhere-on-network-0...Yes, still allowed to put words on the internet. Often with accompanying images, too. The passwords have not been changed. We are surely honoured. This thing about something we've all been sort of half looking forward to. This thing which annoyed a few people who know about modern plastics and materials. This thing about reading TXT MSGs on holiday. This thing about The Mirror being shit.

According to the specs, a production version would weigh around 12 pounds and fold into a backpack that measured just under 2 feet in length. Naturally, that means that you could pick up and carry your bike around just about anywhere. [...]
