TUAW Faceoff: Screencasting
http://www.tuaw.com/ 2008/ 05/ 14/ tuaw-faceoff-screencasting/
Filed under: Software, Features, TUAW Faceoff Screencasting -- the not-so-ancient art of recording the computer screen for the entertainment and enrichment of others -- has evolved into quite a Hydra of options. How do the myriad gladiators in this arena stack up? I've tried everything I could find that could record a little movement on the screen, and selected 8 contenders for the matchup. We'll start this boxing match off with the free apps, and then see if the "money" apps stack enough features on to make them worth the cash.

Mac screencast apps reviewed
http://bioscreencast.com/blog/2008/05/23/mac-screencast-apps...Having switched to using a mac almost a year and a half back. I generally keep track of screencasting apps for the mac. The unofficial apple weblog (tuaw) has a very good review of screencasting apps for the Mac. Check out the review and let us know which apps you prefer by writing in or better yet, put it up on our Mac screencast wiki page. I personally have always used IShowU for capture and Quicktime-Pro for all my editing, but with the entry of all these options maybe I will check some of these out. -hari

OSX Screencasting Faceoff
http://distlib.blogs.com/distlib/2008/05/osx-screencasti.htm...The Unofficial Apple Weblog has a good roundup of free through expensive screencasting applications for OSX (Mac). Taking the top spot for freebies is Jing. Screenflick gets the nod for the "casual user", and ScreenFlow is the best overall. I love Jing for quick and dirty, and I own iShowU and SnapZ Pro for longer captures, but have never tried out Screenflick - guess I'll go do that.
