May 14th 1995, Atlanta: Braves 3, Reds 5 (10) (Box Score) After loosing his first start of the season, southpaw Steve Avery is still on the quest for his first win on the season. On the other side of the diamond, Reds pitcher John Smiley was looking to get his second ‘w’ of the year. The Braves were also looking to get back in the win column and gain ground on the division leader. At the start of play today, they were three and a half games back of first place in the National League East. The Reds would start the scoring in the top of the third.
