Image via Wikipedia Seth Godin has an interesting claim about lies: "Humans are lie detectors. We hear stories. We enjoy them. We try them on for size. We're looking for falsehoods and we sniff them out. We value the truth and we enjoy it. And we're always wary about the occasional lie. That's why political season is just so w e i r d. Creating Honest Content Marketing
http://www.chrisbrogan.com/ creating-honest-content...
Content marketing has an opportunity, should you decide to take it. Instead of going the route of old marketing, you who create content with the intent of building business relationships could try going the route of being honest, being genuine, being human. It's no more difficult than the alternative: crafting something that's dishonest but perhaps shinier. The thing is, if you start with honest and genuine, there's a chance that people will give you extra points for it, in the longer run. In a recent post, Seth Godin offers some storytelling suggestions, and the best of it is at the bottom of the post: Start with the truth.

Communities and Brandstreams
http://www.manuscrypts.com/brants/?p=248Last week, I’d written about transparency in organisations, and touched upon something that’d force transparency on them - conversations about them. While conversations can happen on the organisation itself, I believe the brand will also act as a starting point in many conversations. A transparent organisation will transfer some positive equity to the brand and vice versa. [...]

Here are a few that you should check out... Why Smart Content Is Smart Marketing Great article from Chief Marketer (Joe Stanhope) about how the analytics age is here to stay, but content is still the glue that gets results. Worth the read. Analyze This!
http://b2bcontentconversations.com/2008/08/analyze-this/Just received an analysis of this blog’s Google Analytics by Scott Frangos at WebFadds. The blog is one of the main sources of traffic to the Bolen website, so it makes sense to analyze the traffic here and optimize the blog along with the website. The best news is that you’re out there. You’re spending time and reading these posts.I was pleasantly surprised to find out that I’ve been getting traffic from Chris Brogan’s blog. [...]

Martini Musing - “New” Blogs
http://www.maryschmidt.com/2008/08/22/martini-musing-new-blo...Confession: I don’t subscribe to many RSS feeds - I once became a feed junkie so had to stop. And, yes, I know that’s not leading-edge kewl…but hey, I need to do things like feed the cats, work and eat. And RSS feeds for a data hog/reading addict like me is like giving crack to Pete Douherty. That said, on Fridays, I try to cruise and find new blogs - and one way to do that is check out blogs on the various lists around the Web. [...]
