TV Squad Paley Festival: The X-Files Posted Mar 27th 2008 7:20AM by Kristin Sample The Paley Center for Mediaで第25回目となる年に一度のWilliam S. Paley Television Festivalが行われた。 (中略) Barbara Dickson(ロサンジェルスのPaley Center監督)が、観客をPaley Festival11日目に迎えた。 (中略) Cynthia LittletonはX-Filesを"defining series of its era"(この年代を特徴付けるシリーズ)と言った。

PaleyFest 2008: Fotky tvůrců a informace k filmu
Tomu ostatně napovídá i obrázek z traileru.

: THE X-FILES PANEL - Movie Info & Strange 9/11 Connection - Kristin Sample reports about The X-Files Panel at The Paley Festival. There's a new X-Files movie scheduled to debut this coming summer. It just finished filming ten days ago and will be released in theaters on July 25th, according to Chris Carter. "Littleton asked about the freakish coincidence between The Lone Gunmen pilot and 9/11. In the pilot, which aired only eight months before the real attacks, the characters have to stop a plane from flying into the World Trade Center." Dean Hagland, who has cut his hair, said that he met an FBI agent who told him that he joined the Bureau because of the show. The title of the new film is still under debate. Carter has given it a working title, but Fox may change it, so it isn't firm yet. Sample did a terrific job on this piece. Fans will want to go read all of it. :: Sample at TV Squad :: ...

Paley Festival: The X-Files
http://multipleverses.com/2008/03/27/paley-festival-the-x-fi...Paley Festival: The X-Files March 27th, 2008 Reports from the Paley Festival in Hollywood: Trailer: A new version of the trailer was shown last night featuring more clips from the upcoming film - new spoilers! The theatrical trailer will be premiering with Iron Man. Download Link for the Trailer A Retrospective on The X-files as a series was shown- lots of classic X-Files moments over the years hitting on the key themes that ran through the 9 years of the series. Photos from the event: Click on the image below to view my Web Album with tons of pics from the event From SCIFI Wire: Carter Offers X-Files Spoiler Chris Carter, who co-wrote and directed the upcoming X-Files sequel film, offered fans a few tantalizing spoilers for the movie, while his writing partner, Frank Spotnitz, said it would remain true to the show’s mythology even though it is a stand-alone story. In a panel at the William S. Paley Television Festival in Hollywood on March 26, Carter told fans that they will learn bit about what happened to William, the baby of Mulder (David Duchovny) and Scully (Gillian Anderson), who was given up for adoption in the show’s ninth and final season. “It will not go unconsidered in the movie,” Carter said. Carter also revealed why the sequel still does not have a title. “I can’t tell you [what it is],” Carter said in response to a question. “Because I don’t know, really. I know what I want it to be, but Fox has ideas of their own. And I know what it should be.” Spotnitz said that the movie will pick up the story of Mulder and Scully six years after the events in the show’s finale, which aired in 2002. “In the movie, we wanted it to work for non-fans as well as fans,” Spotnitz said. “But we were determined for the fans to honor all the work that these guys did on the series and all the love that people had for the show over the years. And so I think you’ll see that, while this not a mythology movie, it’s true to everything that’s come before. It’s true to Mulder and Scully, who they are, where they would be at this point in their lives and all of the experiences that they’ve had.” Neither Carter nor Spotnitz would offer many details about the sequel’s storyline. But Carter admitted it derives some its story from the idea the duo had for a sequel movie to be shot immediately after the series ended. “It’s the story we wanted to do,” Carter said, adding: “We went to the length of working out the story [in 2002]. And then there was this lawsuit that got in the way. And years went by. … [Finally,] I got a call from my lawyers: ‘The lawsuit’s been resolved.’ ‘Great!’ And then the phone is ringing. Fox is like, ‘Let’s make a movie!’ ‘Great!’” That was last year. When Carter went to Spotnitz to find the index cards with the original sequel story idea, they had disappeared, Carter said. “And it was the best thing that could have happened,” he said. “Because I think that the story that we came up with now, the movie we just did, is superior to the story that we had. And it made us work harder.” Carter said that the production wrapped principal photography on the sequel about 10 days ago in Vancouver, Canada. The movie opens July 25. Carter also revealed that he has mulled a movie based on his other TV series, Millennium, which starred Lance Henriksen. “We’ve talked about that over the years,” he said. “Lance would love to do it. I don’t know if it would ever get done. It’s a long shot. It would be fun. I have ideas about how to do it.” –Patrick Lee, News Editor AP NEWS has a quick blurb with the info from SCIFI Wire. The Futon Critic has a recap from last night up: http://www.thefutoncritic.com/rant.aspx?id=20080326 Read the full report from TVSquad.com about the X-Files panel at the Paley Festival in Los Angeles last pm. Here are the highlights from their report: In attendance: Steve Maeda (writer, story editor, also worked on Lost and CSI: Miami) Rob Bowman (director, also worked on The A-Team, Parker Lewis Can’t Loose and Daybreak) Paul Rabwin (post-production supervisor, special effects supervisor, also worked on October Road and Chips) Darin Morgan (writer, story editor, “Flukeman” from season 2) Glen Morgan (Darin’s brother, co-executive producer, also worked on Millennium and Bionic Woman) David Nutter (director, producer, affectionately called “pilot zen master,” also worked on Entourage, The Sopranos, and The Sarah Connor Chronicles) Howard Gordon (executive producer, also worked on Buffy and 24) Nicholas Lea (“Agent Alex Krycek,” works on Kyle XY) Dean Haglund (”Ringo,” member of The Lone Gunmen) Mitch Pileggi (”Walter Skinner,” works on CSI: Miami and Reaper) Frank Spotnitz (executive producer, worked on Millennium, Harsh Realm, and co-wrote The X-Files sequel) Chris Carter (creator, executive producer) Tidbits Chris Carter brought his dog Larry to the event. The budget in 1993 for the pilot was 1.1 million dollars. In season 9, the budget was 4 million per episode. About “Small Potatoes,” Darin Morgan said that the part was written for him. Then he read the script and joked, “Oh, I’m a serial rapist. Thanks.” A fan asked if Carter had any plans for Frank Black or for World on Fire. Of the latter, Carter didn’t even remember the show, “Ohh, that show. No we have not talked about that in a long time.” Of the former, Carter thinks it’s a long shot but has some ideas ready if the opportunity presented itself. The panel discussed a few anecdotes about dealing with Standards and Practices at FOX. Chris Carter told a story about “Irresistible.” He was told their is no necrophilia on TV. He recounted, “I just took the word out and called him a ‘death fetishist.’ And they said, ‘That’s great.’” Littleton asked about the freakish coincidence between The Lone Gunmen pilot and 9/11. In the pilot, which aired only eight months before the real attacks, the characters have to stop a plane from flying into the World Trade Center. Carter said he always was astounded that people didn’t ask about it. Frank Spotnitz commented about how unprepared we were for 9/11 and that many politicians said we never could have seen it coming. Spotnitz asserted that the idea was clearly out there. The moderator brought up a great point about The X-Files and the growth of web connectivity. Carter said that Glen Morgan would go into AOL chatrooms after the shows aired. It was so interesting at the time to receive immediate feedback from real fans. “That was the good news and the bad news,” Carter joked. Morgan jested that at first fans were very polite and helpful but quickly became vicious. Of his first hearing the theme music, Glen Morgan said, “What the hell?” But Carter liked it right away. Morgan recounted that Carter said the music was like “whistling in a graveyard.” Carter on not having a “bible” for the show and why having a “bible” is a stupid idea: “[The studios] can give it to someone else and fire you.” FOX made them test “Humbug” before they aired it. The studio was clearly nervous about its scary show doing a comedy episode. Darin Morgan laughed about being Flukeman, “You can’t move and that’s the end of it.” He also said that when he met David Duchovny for the first time, he was in his Flukeman suit. Duchovny asked, “Why are you doing this?” Filed under: Events, X-Files
