Noooooo! Chappaqua-raised Erik Hopfinger heads home from âTop Chef' March 27 I'm always willing to admit my bias. So, yes, one of the reasons I was rooting hard for Erik Hopfinger to succeed on "Top Chef" was because of his childhood in Chappaqua. That said, you could tell he was one of the most well-liked cheftestants when he announced to the rest of them that he was the one who was eliminated for serving his "soggy" corn dogs. Those were some legit, lingering hugs. Through only three sets of competitions, he seemed to bond with everybody from hyperactive Spike Mendelsohn to soft-spoken Zoi Antonitsas.
