Mobile Banking Uptake: Bank of America Closing in on 1 million Mobile Users
http://www.netbanker.com/ 2008/ 05/ mobile_banking_adoption_bank_of_america_nears_1...
In its latest quarterly financial results (here), Bank of America said it signed up 224,000 new users during the quarter to bring it active mobile banking base to 840,000. Assuming the 75,000/mo pace continues through second quarter, the bank should be over 900,000 now and will surpass 1 million in the next few weeks. Although it's a nice milestone, it's only 4% of the bank's 23+million active online banking users (here). Given that mobile is pushed frequently in the bank's online banking area, one could argue that 4% adoption is pretty anemic. But according to M:Metrics, less than 14% of U.S.

BofA mobile banking results analysis | Netbanker
http://thebankwatch.com/2008/05/15/bofa-mobile-banking-resul...Jim at Netbanker does a good job of analysing BofA mobile banking activity and makes the point that while apparently anemic the results are not bad. I still believe that mobile banking can be so much more, than replication of ATM/ online banking

Risultati di Bank of America sul mobile banking
http://blog.quintarelli.it/blog/2008/05/risultati-di-ba.htmlLink: Mobile Banking Uptake: Bank of America Closing in on 1 million Mobile Users (NetBanker). So 4% of a 14% universe is much more impressive, indicating the bank has tapped almost 1/3 of the short-term potential for mobile web-based services...a good start circa 1 milione di utenti che rappresenta circa 1/3 del target di persone dotate di un cellulare con browser e connessione dati. non male.
