Kansas City Chiefs Set To Release Veteran S Greg Wesley

It's being reported that the Kansas City Chiefs will cut veteran safety Greg Wesley soon. Wesley essentially killed any leverage the Chiefs had in any trade talks (likely none) when he said, “They told me after the draft that if they couldn’t trade me before the minicamp, they would release me then. Since then, they told me they would release me sooner than that." The team's mini-camp is June 6-8. There were rumblings over a year ago that the Broncos were engaging in trade discussions with the Chiefs. The Chiefs were rumored to be asking for a 5th round pick for the 8-year veteran.
