What Google Knows About Spam Intro: Google’s Matt Cutt’s recently posted his ten-minute keynote about “What Google Knows About Spam” from his speech at the Web 2.0 conference and Regency Interactive has summarized it for your below. What is web spam? Web spam is when webmasters cheat and use unethical methods to make their websites show up higher in the search engines than it should. The basic root cause of spam is money! Hidden or invisible related text is when one disguises keywords and phrases by making them the same color as the background, using a tiny font size, or hiding them within HTML code such as "noframe" sections, ALT attributes, zero-width/height DIVs, and "no script" sections.
