Sentencing Guidlines Council

I have just read this morning (12th May 2008) that the Sentecing Guidlines Council in the UK is proposing that burglars & thieves who commit crimes because they are drug addicts or gambling addicts or alcoholics could escape jail in future. No wonder our country which once had a reputation for good manners, fair play and honesty has now become the petty crime capital of Europe which foreigners and tourists are increasingly fearful of visiting. Rude, aggressive, drunken and drug crazed yobs roam our streets at night and give two fingers to the law.
