If only the US could elect Barack Obama president every day, the American newspaper industry wouldnt be in so much trouble. As it is, however, advertising at newspapers both print and online has been dropping like a rock the past few years according to

Dead-Tree Editions Sell Out By Corey Kilgannon People waiting outside the New York Times Building Wednesday afternoon to buy the paper, after 50,000 additional copies were printed. (Photo: Earl Wilson/The New York Times) Update | 2:50 p.m. If you were an early bird who likes news the old-fashioned way, you probably got your election results served up properly, with ink on newsprint — but if you slept late Wednesday morning, the news at many newsstands was that there was no News. No Daily News, that is. And no New York Times or New York Post, either.

Live Blog: Changing Media Landscape at Columbia University
http://www.runningdesign.com/2008/11/11/live-blog-changing-m...8:28 p.m. Question for Erica Smith: Do you track hiring online? She says it was hard to determine if positions were filled or just dropped. 8:25 p.m. Question: What is the revenue model for Slate? Is it profitable? Weisberg: Key costs (i.e. printing on paper) are reduced with online content and that’s been born out. He says his business is doing well but says the lawyers won’t let him say if they’re profitable. Monday Kneecapp'd Recap
http://snobber.blogspot.com/2008/11/monday-kneecappd-recap.h...On Mondays I generally feel like I've been hit by a mack truck and lack sufficient brain power to write a coherent post. That said, it makes me sad to see the blog go un-updated, so I've decided to introduce a set of links into the fold every Monday, under the heading: Monday Kneecapp'd Recap . [...]

《纽约时报》的特大标题
http://www.ruanyifeng.com/blog/2008/11/the_biggest_headlines... 一位记者写下了当天早上的见闻: “People want it as a souvenir,” said Rose Barmas, who runs a newsstand at Broadway and 116th Street. Getting that coveted copy of the NYTimes
http://www.eugenewei.com/mtweblog/archives/003646.htmlSadly, I was shut out of getting a copy of the NYTimes yesterday, like many people. A note on their website today: [Note to readers: Copies of Wednesday's paper were again available for the $1.50 cover price Thursday at Times headquarters, at 620 Eighth Avenue in Manhattan, between 40th and 41st Streets, until they run out.
