The word automotive is the general term we use to describe the industry of motor vehicles. This includes all aspects of the business such as design, development, manufacturing marketing and of course selling the worlds cars. In 2007 statistics note that there were 806 million cars and light trucks on the road in the world. Of this number almost a third (250 million) are in the US. It is estimated that the 806 million cars on the road burn 260 billion gallons of gasoline and diesel each year. However in 2008 the automotive industry suffered severe setbacks economically due to the increasing oil prices, which has spurred a move towards hybrid cars further innovative solar energy research.
Autoblog is a site dedicated to the automotive industry, and takes a look at it from a fun perspective. Very well structured and easy on the eyes, it utilizes good sub menu systems to offer the viewer a wide range of information and blogs about the automotive industry.
