Can You Duet (CYD) is a weekly musical talent competition on Country Music Television (CMT). Produced by the cable station along with Fremantle Media North America, of American Idol fame, this contest's goal is to find the next big thing in singing duos.
While there are quite a few elements that echo those of its more famous predecessor, there is one other big twist besides looking for harmonious partners. Solo artists can also attend the auditions as there is a singles section where like minds and musical stylings can mingle and unite in hopes of winning the grand prize: a recording contract with Big Machine Records. In fact, that's how last year's winners, Caitlin & Will, became a duet. Season Two has just begun with bloggers like The Idolater and The Futon Critic following the show.
