A child is a human typically between the age of newborn and adolescence or puberty. The legal definition is a ‘minor’, however recently the definition of a child was defined by the ‘United Nations Convention on the Rights of a Child’, to be any human under the age of 18 years.
The term can and has been used however to refer to a person who is a member of a group or organization, for example, a person who had their adolescent years in the 1960’s is sometimes referred to as ‘a child of the sixties.’ It has also been used in a similar manner to refer to members of some religions and/or cults.
