The tag Children's literature is popular among bloggers who review books for children and by people discussing children's books, such as parents, teachers, librarians, book award committees, and booksellers. It is generally thought that books referred to as children's literature are for readers up to age twelve. Books for young readers ages thirteen and above are referred to as young adult books or YA. Children's literature is also categorized by reading level, such as easy readers and middle grade fiction.
Regardless of how they are categorized, many books termed children's literature are read and enjoyed by young adults and adults.
