Dara Torres was arguably one of the most inspirational stories of the 2008 Summer Olympics.
In those Summer Olympics in Beijing, Torres, 41 years old at the time, was the first US swimmer to ever compete in five Olympics, including competition in 1984 (Los Angeles), 1988 (Seoul), 1992 (Barcelona), 2000 (Sydney), and 2008 (Beijing). While she did not win any gold medals during the record breaking swim competition, she was part of two silver medal relay teams and won another silver in the 50-meter freestyle.
The Jupiter, Florida native is contemplating making an attempt to swim in the 2012 Olympics in London.
