A diary, sometimes called a journal, is a chronological record of thoughts, feelings, ideas, and events, in the life of an individual. Historically diaries were handwritten, however blogging platforms have become a popular place for diaries, and they can also be kept on your computer via various computer diary software. People of all ages and genders keep diaries. Diaries can be kept private, with a lock if written, and with other forms of protection offered by the blogging platform if one keeps a diary online.
Dairies are not always personal. They can be kept for many reasons, including that of historical documentation, research, business, or to chronicle a trip. Some well known examples include Livingstone's African Journal, The Diary of Anne Frank, and The Dairies of Samuel Pepys.
You can find computer diary programs by typing "computer diaries" into a search engine. To find web based blogging or diary platforms type in "blogging platforms," "web journals," or "online diaries." You can purchase a diary/journal in book form at practically any book or department store. They can be purchased with or without keys.
