Electronics refers to the flow of electricity through non-metal conductors, such as silicon. In the blogosphere, however, the term is most commonly used as short-hand for electronic devices and equipment, both consumer and professional/broadcast.
Devices in this category include: cameras, camcorders, radios, CD players, mp3 players, personal computers, televisions, DVD players, DVRs, calculators, GPS navigation systems, cell phones and any other piece of equipment using silicon chips in their construction.
Blogs about electronics tend to review electronic devices, or carry news and announcements about them. Of course, as with anything else in the blogosphere, there can also be random ramblings and rants about electronics too. In fact, because electronics are so pervasive in everyday life, ranting about them can be a regular event, and quite cathartic. This does show up on various electronics blogs.
Some examples of blogs featuring electronics include: Consumer Reports Electronics blog, Gizmodo, and TechRadar UK, to name just a few.
