The tag girls is very popular among bloggers. It's generally used to identify posts that are about girls or of interest to girls. Bloggers often use the tag girls when reviewing books written for girls. A great blog for girls is Readergirlz with the mission to inspire girls to make history of their own.
It's not surprising that there's so much content available for girls, as a study published in December 2007 by the Pew Internet & American Life Project found that among Web users ages 12 to 17, significantly more girls than boys blog (35 percent of girls compared with 20 percent of boys), according to this article in the New York Times. A popular librarian blog that reviews many books for girls and young adults is Fuse #8 by librarian Betsy Bird of the New York Public Library. You can browse and buy books for girls from sites like Amazon.com or you can find them at your local bookstore using sites like IndieBound.org.
