Emmy Award-winning actress Katherine Marie Heigl was born November 24, 1978, in Washington D.C. and was raised in Connecticut along with her three older siblings.
Katherine's time in the spotlight began when she started modeling at the age of nine, appearing in various magazines and television commercials. Modeling soon paved the way to acting, with Katherine making her film debut in 1992's That Night.
Katherine Heigl starred in the short-lived science fiction television drama Roswell where she played an alien-human hybrid character by the name of Isabel Evans. Her big break however, came in 2005, when she was cast in the popular medical drama Grey's Anatomy.
Katherine Heigl appeared in the hit Judd Apatow comedy Knocked Up in 2007. The following year she was the lead role in another lighthearted flick, 27 Dresses. With her Grey's Anatomy stardom following her everywhere she goes, and her rising notoriety on the big screen, Katherine Heigl's booming popularity was evident when she was named No. 1 on AskMen.com's Top 99 Most Desirable Women of 2008.
Katherine Heigl next returned to the silver screen in 2009, starring alongside Gerard Butler in the romantic comedy The Ugly Truth.
