Musician Kid Rock, born Robert Ritchie in 1971, may be better known for his bad-boy image. His highly publicized relationship with Pamela Anderson and his 2007 assault on her ex-husband Tommy Lee (Motley Crue) gave him more press than the total of his combined talents have. Add other run-ins with the law and it's easy to see why he has a scandalous reputation.
Look at his musical legacy, though, and you will see that he has made his mark there. Kid Rock's ability to mix rap music with rock, blues, and country music has sold over twenty five million albums as of 2008. He has toured with such diverse acts as Ice Cube, Limp Bizkit, Aerosmith and Lynyrd Skynyrd.
Kid Rock has acted in movies including Joe Dirt and 3,000 Miles To Graceland and lent his voice to several animated projects like King Of The Hill, South Park and The Simpsons. Proceeds from his clothing line Made In Detroit fund a scholarship program for musicians at Wayne State University in Michigan. Said to also be in the works are his own brand of beer and cigars.
