Lodging generally refers to travelers sleeping accommodations. This may be a hotel, motel, campground, hostel or bed and breakfast. Lodging is broader term than hotel or resort but generally implies a more creative use of the term accommodation. Lodging could include a log ski resort or a pitched tent in the National Forest. The lodging industry in the US took a serious downturn in 2008 and it appears that industry experts are not predicting an upturn until the first quarter of 2011. The good news for travelers is that room rates may continue to decline as lodging managers and chains scramble to attract more visitors.
Lodging blogs offer a wide variety of information from industry trends and news releases to lodging offers and new facility openings. One of the rising stars in the lodging industry is Minnesota. The Explore Minnesota blog offers interesting information on local lodging opportunities.
