Lunch is usually served in the afternoon as a meal eaten between breakfast and dinner to help people maintain their energy for their daily tasks. The business lunch is a meal where two or more people combine lunch with talk about work, the signing of contracts, or an attempt to forge closer business alliances between different companies, departments, etc. Sometimes overworked people choose to skip lunch to focus on catching up on their work instead. Others choose to eat at their desks, enjoying either a full meal or just a combination of snacks.
Those who bring lunch to work or school often carry their meals in a thermos, lunch box, bento box, tiffin, cooler bag, or simple brown paper sack or plastic bag. With the advent of the microwave, more and more people can prepare and reheat hot foods for lunch at their places of work. Others prefer to pickup foods for takeout or have meals delivered to them at their place of business.
Some good blogs to read about what others are having for lunch as well as get inspiration for your own are Lunch in a Box, Vegan Lunch Box, and Lunchtime in Paris.
