In its most simple definition, technology is the knowledge and tool-usage of a species, however it generally refers to computers, the internet and an entire array of electronic devices, gadgets, gizmos and business processes. Technology Management, therefore, is the management of technology. Specifically, it is a series of management disciplines that allow a company or organization to control their technologies in the most efficient way to create a competitive advantage. Technology Management is a big growth area right now, with graduate degree programs in TMAN (as it is known in some Education circles) at Universities around the nation, including Columbia University, the University of Pennsylvania, Georgetown University, and the University of Maryland.
