Elizabeth Stamatina "Tina" Fey (born on May 18, 1970 in Upper Darby, Pennsylvania) is an Emmy Award winning actress, writer and producer best known for her starring and creative roles on Saturday Night Live and 30 Rock.
Tina Fey joined the Saturday Night Live writing team in 1997. She was named head writer a few years later, becoming the first woman to ever occupy the position. She made her debut in front of the camera in 2000, co hosting the popular SNL news sketch "Weekend Update" with Jimmy Fallon.
In 2004, Tina Fey wrote the screenplay for the hit movie Mean Girls, which starred Lindsay Lohan. She returned to the big screen in the 2008 comedy/drama Baby Mama alongside fellow SNL alumni Amy Poehler.
Tina Fey made headlines during the 2008 presidential campaign thanks to her striking resemblance to Alaska governor Sarah Palin. Her weekly SNL parodies of the vice-presidential candidate drew big ratings for NBC leading up to the election.
