The United States of America commonly referred to as the US or USA is located in central North America and is comprised of fifty states and a federal district. The USA includes 3.79 million square miles and 309 million people making it the third largest country in the world by land area and population. The economy in the USA remains one of the largest in the world with a GDP in 2008 of $14.3 trillion. The economy boasts the largest marketplace for US hotels and weddings. The large land mass includes one of the most geographically diverse climates of any country in the world ranging from humid continental in the North to humid subtropical in the South and tropical in Florida and Hawaii.
