Born in 1982, the USA Today has become a staple of life in the United States, especially it seems to folks in the hotel industry.
Hatched out of a two-year research project by its parent company, The Gannett Company, the USA Today was developed to give readers a national look at the news, offering tastes of what was going along in all regions, not just their own area. Gannett also decided to launch the newspaper with a colorful format, eschewing the normal black-and-white most newspapers were printed in during and before the 1980s.
Today, the USA Today's "daily circulation is approximately 2.3 million, making it the largest-selling daily newspaper in the nation." USAToday.com also offers readers an electronic version of the daily, along with an extensive offering of blogs covering dozens of newsworthy topics.
