Wallpaper in terms of computers typically refers to the background image on the main system screen when no other windows are open. Wallpaper selection is one of many ways users can personalize their workspace, using virtually any image, provided it is in JPG or BMP format. Using wallpaper management programs opens up the variety of file types one can use, as well as which images are considered and in what order and with what frequency the image changes.
