1700 MPG Cars at Supermileage in Marshall, Michigan

The cars then move through a designated course at the Eaton Corporation Proving Grounds and are judged on both miles per gallon and design. An international competition, 35 college teams are expected from as far away as India, Qatar and Italy. Last year, an Indiana group hit 1,693 mpg at a similar challenge. In June, students will again have the opportunity “to set a world fuel economy record and increase public awareness.” Learn more at
