    Obama’s Preacher: US Started AIDS

114 days ago in Beltway Bunk · Authority: 1

s got several weeks before the next primary in Pennsylvania where Hillary already enjoys a double digit lead.  Not to mention that Pennsylvania is 85% white and there has been a racial gap divide between the two candidates (Hillary took 72% of the white vote in Mississippi compared to Obama’s 91% of the black vote).  These Pennsylvanians seem like older, white, blue collar Democratic voters who would be turned off by someone’s “mentor” calling America the “US of KKK A”.

to go before the Pennsylvania primary on April 22. Six long weeks. Clinton is ahead in the polls there, as she has been all along, but, well, six weeks in politics, six weeks in this race, is a long, long time. 12:17 am -- For more, see Ambinder and Smith, both of whom examine the exit polls. 12:19 am -- And that's it for Mississippi Madness. Thanks for tuning in.

won 61% of men and 58% of women. That’s going to lead to a pretty good day. * Race: It’s fair to say this was an important factor in Mississippi. 91% of African-American voters backed Obama, while 72% of white voters backed Clinton.

That’s going to lead to a pretty good day. * Race: It’s fair to say this was an important factor in Mississippi. 91% of African-American voters backed Obama, while 72% of white voters backed Clinton.

with a net gain of seven delegates. Combined with Wyoming’s results, Obama has already erased the delegate gains Clinton made on March 4. So, what made the difference? That’s going to lead to a pretty good day. * Race: It’s fair to say this was an important factor in Mississippi. 91% of African-American voters backed Obama, while 72% of white voters backed Clinton.

handily. Nobody knows what the "real" numbers are, but exit polls from Fox News suggest he won by about 22%. In other words, this round goes to Hillary Clinton for not losing even worse. UPDATE (7:36 p.m.) -- I am a genius. Smith reports that, as best he can tell by early numbers and exit polls, Mississippi's African Americans made up a significantly smaller portion of the Democratic electorate -- 48 percent -- than they did in the presidential primary four years ago.

Obama shocked no one and took a relatively uncontested and tame primary in Mississippi tonight.

made up a far smaller share, 48%, than they did in the 2004 primary, when well over half of the voters were black. Clinton, meanwhile, won 72% of the state's white vote, which represented a slightly larger share of the overall Democratic electorate. Link

and views from across the internet. Also check out analysis from Bill Bradley. Hot Air:"There’s an interesting twist on this on the 'dream ticket' question. Obama’s supporters seem okay with him or Hillary as VP. Her supporters? Not so much." Politico: "The results of Mississippi's primary today show a sharp divide along racial lines, with overwhelming African-American support for Barack Obama, and a solid, though less sweeping, white majority for Hillary Clinton."
