2010 Blog Action Day Looks to Be Biggest Online Event Ever for Clean Water Cause

Change.org's international Blog Action Day is near. The online "event" is Friday, October 15, and the campaign hopes to reach thousands of people with their message promoting the clean water cause.
As of late Monday evening, they've already signed up over 3,100 blogs in 121 countries, nearing 25 million readers. Just today, they announced that the White House and UK Foreign Office will once again be participating.
The cause this year is water. Why water? They put it best:
Right now, almost a billion people on the planet don’t have access to clean, safe drinking water. That’s one in eight of us who are subject to preventable disease and even death because of something that many of us take for granted.
Access to clean water is not just a human rights issue. It’s an environmental issue. An animal welfare issue. A sustainability issue. Water is a global issue, and it affects all of us.
The Blog Action Day website lists thirteen ideas for posts already to get you started, and no doubt that barely scratches the surface of what conversations might take place on Friday.
We here at Technorati are encouraging all our writers to submit posts on Friday featuring the cause, as it can certainly fit in any one of our channels. We're excited to play a role in this monumental, international event, and we hope you'll join in, too.
Want to write here on Technorati? Submit a quick application and we'll do our best to get you approved as soon as possible so you can contribute for the big day.
